about

In a jam-packed tube train, suddenly a sweaty bald headed woman half-screaming half-singing. As my body stumbled around the packed train my mind was at an afterparty at the Town & Country Club. The band were raging and this visceral singer was drenching every syllable with vengeance. It hadn’t hurt her yet, but she knew that it would.

Something or someone was going to entice her, embrace her, and consume her entirely. She was drunk with lust and petrified with doom. The train pulled into a station and I jumped off and pulled out my voice recorder. Beatboxing, growling bass lines, whispering lyrics.

lyrics

I can see that you’re my kinda
I can see that you could tilt my world
For my world within you resolves
I can see that you’re my kinda
I can feel that you’d consume my mind
For my world without you dissolves

Do I control the meanings?
Do I hold back these feelings?
Am I to try and quell this?
Will I ever survive this fall?

Bright skies, no more lies, I’ve fallen into you
Firm ground, comfort found, my footsteps are true
Like clouds, light clouds, my heart soars for you
Happiness, feeling blessed, only to wake

Oh this dream, in this dream
Where it seems we were free once more
Where in parts we’re deceived
Into dancing for ever more
Yes this dream, oh this dream
Where it seemed we were free once more
But we find that we’ve declined
Into dark and deceitful dreams are finite
